Worth the upgrade: great vacuum, even better mop
This robot is pretty awesome. We had the vacuum only robot and getting the vacuum/mop combo was a great upgrade. Vacuum quality is about the same as the previous robot but the sensors on this one is what sets it apart. I feel like this one gets around chairs and door frames better than the previous as well. Setup was quick and mapping took a little less than 10 minutes. Do yourself a favor and watch the video on this listing for setup. The video gives better instruction than the written document in my opinion. Maybe it was just me. The mopping function on this thing is next level. The mop extension arm that comes out to get into corners and door frames is awesome. The mop went from the hard wood to area rug without making a mess or leaving the rug wet. I think that was what I was most skeptical about prior to turning this thing loose. We noticed it was pretty good at staying in the boundaries if you select specific rooms for cleaning. From a quality and function perspective this robot is a good buy.

Early but very happy
Just a quick note (turned out not so quick), since I’ve had it less than a week. In short, I Recommend it.Coming from the J7+. The upgrade has worked great. Doesn’t feel like it’s like watching bumper cars working through the house. It’s vac+mop clean works great and actually works along the straight edges. The floors (tile and wood with thin area carpet) feels great under bare feet and improved over the J7+.There were a hiccup or two on starting the 1st run but quickly got past that. Yes, I had read the reviews and left it on the base to update for about 4 hours (getting it’s ‘day 1’ updates) before it’s mapping. The mapping run went quick compared to the j7+ and was funny to watch it run into a room and spin around discovering everything for the first time. The result of the map of the house was spot on and it started adding some correct furniture in the right places on its own.The dings against it, again it’s been less than a week, have been against the app; mostly. Coming from the “classic” app it’s a different workflow. I assume I will get use to it but it’s not the most intuitive coming from the “classic”. The cleaner for the 705 “stayclean” is a no go to find on Amazon or irobot’s website (it does come with a small 1st bottle to start with). If you dig around in the app you will find that you can use the previously made irobot cleaner but you you will need to mix a specific amount in the main water container vs adding straight into the “stayclean” reservoir (just a heads up).Additional note is I do have a pretty decent transition (it’s not exactly flat between the 2) between the kitchen (tile) and living room (wood). The J7+ was always able to handle it like a champ. It’s one of the reasons I waited on pulling the trigger initially on getting the J7+, until I say a video review specially showing how various robot vacs handle different transitions. I was worried about this one but the 705 has handled it well. It did pause at the transition the 1st couple of times, like it was worried but got over it fears and carried on.Early but I’ve been really happy with the upgrade. I had put off doing a vac+mop upgrade for a year. Before the 705 max combo I was actually looking at Roborocks and they still might be the better upgrade. I don’t know, I didn’t go with it (and it’s still early). The roborocks do have a lot of features and a lot of good reviews. I’ve seen a lot of the online reviews and even the negative ones for this one; mainly around the initial leaks thus needing the ‘day 1’ update. For now it is thumbs up. It cleans, cleans better than my previous roomba, and cleans what I have very well.

Needs more R&D or QC – I wouldn’t get this yet.
A giant headache. Right out of the box, after 2hrs of undisturbed & successful firmware updates, followed by a restart. Maps fine, Vacuums okay, but on the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd try for any mopping activity, it cannot refill the clean water tank or empty the dirty water tank without flooding the dock tray and my floor. Have manually emptied the bins and dock and cleaned the nozzles meticulously and checked for blockages everywhere I can. Have not gotten one successful mop session without a huge mess to clean up. The dirty water bin also drips as its vacuuming. Other users are stating you may have to order and install extra rubber seals to fix this issue – seems like for a $1k machine, that could have been addressed during testing & QC before being rushed to market and I don’t appreciate being the beta tester. I will be returning.

Works exactly how I wanted it to but better.
I just got this product and I know it is a big purchase and let me say so far it’s been great. The vacuuming is strong enough to actually pick up daily dust, dog hair, and crumbs, and the mopping feature is better than I expected. The best part is the dock—it cleans and dries the mop pad on its own, so I don’t have to mess with dirty water or keep replacing pads. The retractable mop prevents it from wetting rugs, and the obstacle avoidance has been solid (no more getting stuck on cords). It runs on a schedule, empties itself, and just does its job. I hardly think about it now, and the floors look clean all the time. If you’re tired of maintaining a robot vacuum, this is worth it.We love the addition to the family! 🙂

Satisfied, but still a work in progress.
Overall a good product that I am satisfied with. Still has some bugs to workout both with the hardware and the software. Not too difficult to setup for first time use and the robot mapped out all the rooms in my house in under 30 minutes, but my house is under 800 square feet and your experience may be different. The dock and robot are fairly large so make sure that you have enough space for them.Noise levels for the dock are pretty loud when it’s emptying the dust bin but the robot itself is fairly quiet while cleaning.Occasional leaking occurs while the dock is either emptying the robots dirty water bin or while auto cleaning of the mopping roller brush but I found some support references to a seal kit to potentially address this issue.

Excellent cleaning and mopping quality on hardwood floor. This model never gets stuck. The new-ish Roomba Home app is an improvement compared to iRobot. When docked after mopping, it dries the mop, which produces a moderately loud humming sound, which surprised me at first. Mop drying can be turned off in the app and the noise stops once the mop is dry.

I really wanted to like this combo bot.I upgraded from an old, dumb Roomba to a Mova, which was great at first. Extremely smart most of the time and very good at cleaning. After it ran over dog poop and I couldn’t clean it properly without removing a screw that voids the warranty, and at the same time I realized that those vacuums are never meant to be repaired at home because they are super difficult to take apart, can’t be taken apart without voiding warranty, and there are no parts available, I returned it. I would rather have a dumb, modular, repairable Roomba. The reason I bring this up is because I was hoping this vacuum would be in the realm of the Chinese vacuums. However, it’s just dumb knockoff, and a poorly designed one at that. The rubber piece inside the dirty water tank always caused issues with it sucking up the dirty water. I confirmed that it could open fully in all directions, but still could not get the Roomba to think it wasn’t clogged with it installed. So, as many other people with this vacuum have (BAD DESIGN), I took it out, which seemed to solve the issue for a while, if you ignore all the little dirty water puddles all over the floor. But at least the thing would run. Still, pretty garbage to have to work around errors right out of the box. Then the error kept coming back. I cleaned the dirty water tank multiple times. I managed to even clean the glob of hair out of the impossible to clean little chamber that goes from the drip tray into the tank itself- don’t get this vacuum if you have pets. Yes, I was running the Roomba in vacuum then mop mode, as recommended for pets. The error still wouldn’t clear, and the Roomba would just keep vacuuming a small area, trying to mop, failing, and ending the job.I did enough fighting to try and get this thing to work for a few weeks. I ended up returning. Do not buy until they figure out a better design, or go for the one with the spinning mop pads and not this horribly designed dirty water tank that it seems like they expected was only ever going to have clean water run through it.

Cleans great but is a bit loud

This product is great at cleaning. I replaced my Roomba 960 with this rather than change the battery. It does a very good job on hardware floors and average on small carpets. It’s navigation is very impressive compared to older generations. It finds it’s way through tasks efficiently. Their new software is 4 star at best. Some features are definitely missing. It is very usable and capable even though not very intuitive.Important note.. out of the box this device will get firmware updates. It takes at least an hour for the robot and the dock. Make sure to reboot the roomba and the dock after they are completed. The software doesn’t prompt you to do so but mine was misbehaving until I rebooted both devices. Well worth the price.

Used for 3 weeks then returnedNOT NOISE SENSITIVITY FRIENDLYOverwhelmingly loud1 1/2 hours for main floor house 2 passesApp is poor qualityStruggles with mappingRIDICULOUSLY LOUDStruggles with edges and doesn’t get cornersStruggles to park itself homeLeaves streaks all over the houseDoesn’t pick up stuff on 1-2 setting but does on 3-4Did I mention it was really loudAt the end of the day, it did its job. It cleaned the floor, but left streaks wherever it went. But because I am sensitive to noise, this vacuum/mop robot unfortunately does not get to stay.
