Reliable detection with good whole-home coverage
I installed four of these combo smoke and CO detectors throughout my house about two months ago to replace my older units that were nearing their expiration dates. The wireless interconnection feature worked right out of the box – I tested it by pressing the test button on one unit and all four alarms went off within a couple seconds, which is reassuring for whole-home coverage. Setup was straightforward, just mount the bracket with the included screws and snap the detector onto it. The 10-year sealed battery is convenient since I won’t have to worry about changing batteries or hearing that annoying low-battery chirp. The LCD display on the front shows CO levels in PPM which is useful to monitor, mine usually read 0 but I’ve seen it tick up to 2-3 when cooking on the gas stove. Build quality feels solid with a sturdy plastic housing. The test button is easy to press and gives a loud alarm sound that’s definitely attention-getting. The LED indicator lights show blue for smoke detection and red for CO, providing clear visual feedback on what type of threat is detected. The alarm sound itself is loud enough to wake you up without being painfully ear-piercing. The multi-directional sensing holes seem to work well for detection. I haven’t had any false alarms yet which is good. The units communicate through walls fine in my 2400 square foot house. Instructions were clear enough for installation and the mounting hardware included everything needed. The detectors have a clean, modern look that doesn’t stand out too much on the ceiling. Overall they’re reliable detectors that provide good protection and the wireless mesh network gives peace of mind that everyone in the house will be alerted simultaneously if there’s an issue.

I have been using smoke detectors in my homes since about 1976. The usual brand was Kiddie. Kiddie makes a fine smoke detector that’s battery-powered. They also manufacture wired detectors for new construction. Two years ago, I had to replace my Kiddie unit and purchased one from KLTsenaife, which is battery-powered. One of those units failed, having a lifetime warranty, so I inquired about a replacement. I was told there have been issues with a few units as they could be damaged in shipment. The damage can not be detected visually. Their engineers made modifications to the circuit boards to prevent that damage. However, they also, during that reengineering, added a significant new feature which, as a homeowner, was much appreciated. Multiple units are now wirelessly connected. What a safety issue that is to you. Older-style units are independent of the area placed. When they go off, you may not be where you can hear it and respond to the situation. These new units, which are stylish and blend in with the decor of the surroundings, all respond to the detection of smoke or increased Carbon Monoxide levels. Yes, they all sound the alarm together, so no matter hopefully, no matter where you are in the home, you are aware and can respond quickly to the situations. Now you do not have to have an electrician wire up your home for multiple units, which can be quite an undertaking and expensive to boot. These units are also lifetime warranted and have a lithium-ion battery, which has 10 10-year warranty as well. There is a test button on top to manually test the units. I used a match at one unit to test the system. The volume of the alarm will get your attention even if you are sound asleep. The cost of these units makes purchasing multiple units, say for the bedrooms, hallway, living rooms, and garage, allowing you and your family to feel safe and secure. The wireless feature is very comforting. All this with a 10-year warranty! Now you can have the same security that is found in hotels or other commercial buildings at a fraction of the cost. Installation is easily accomplished with a simple screwdriver and takes only a few minutes per unit. No, they do not call the first responders; you still have to do that, when everyone is out of the danger zone.

I ordered these to provide safety for my family. I think the price is very good for what I got. They were easy to install. They seem very durable and strong, a high quality product. Given the quality, I believe they will last many years to come. They are interconnected, so this is ideal for multiple rooms and multi-floor homes too. There is a test button as well. Ours worked fine. This is my favorite feature, I will test it routinely to ensure it’s still working fine. It will flash yellow if the battery is low, so I really love this feature!
