Waste of money
This thing has frustrated me to no end. She rarely understand what is being asked. When trying to play videos that they provide, I keep getting an error message. It was playing videos fine, and now every one is an error. I can feel the rage pouring out of my chest. I’m very familiar with Amazon products, and this one is awful.

I didn’t know I could be this angry at an inanimate object
I have owned two previous Echo models in addition to interacting with others that I don’t own. This version is completely useless. Slow responses, greater than 50% failure rate of response even when I see the status bar indicate that it’s hearing me and even when I am standing right in front of it. It responds randomly from the wrong device (ie, I have one device whose wake up word is Echo and two others – Computer and Alexa – in different rooms. On the rare occasion that my “set a timer” cue is heard and acknowledged, at least half the time it doesn’t go off – even when I visually confirm that the timer is going. Sometimes it sets the timer without confirming. Sometimes it has the timer alert on Computer or on Alexa.I use this device to play music for my dog while I’m at work. I tell it to play certain types of music for a certain number of hours. At least half the time, it stops playing after a single track or randomly some other time.I find myself yelling at this thing and have gone back to using my manual kitchen timer as I can not count on this thing to track my multiple timers.Or play music.Or answer questions. Yesterday I asked a question about keeping chopped green onions fresh, and it showed pictures of chopped green onions but did not answer me. Or respond when I asked it again. But it had responded earlier – pictures included – when I’d asked the same question about chopped cilantro.Useless. (And yep – I’ve updated the firmware and done a system reset with Amazon customer support.
