Functioned straight out of the box. We ordered this because we are building time-consciousness in our 6 year-old who seems to get distracted from his tasks more quickly and frequently than his siblings at his age. So far, so good. The product is exactly as described and works fine. A true productivity masterpiece (since it helps you avoid looking at your phone when tracking your pomodoro sessions). I love also the fact that you can choose the alarm type when the timer ends : sound or vibration or nothing (just flashing the timer on the screen).
