High quality comfortable to wear
High quality well constructed device, comfortable to wear. It has lots of useful data; timing of the sleep data graph correlates well with known event times, also captures napping events. It provides usefull notifications to get up and move, has very long battery life and is very easy and fast to charge in the battery enabled dock. I have doubts about the accuracy of sleep stages especially REM and awake times. At least awake times don’t seem to match my experience. Apnea monitoring is a great feature. In my case it showed no apnea which is expected given my use of a CPAP. I may report more later if i test the effect of not using the CPAP. No annual fee is a great bonus.

Great ring, yes it’s a little pricey, but it works like it is supposed to!
I first tried a cheap smart ring ($60), and while the hardware was somewhat impressive, the app was junk: not specific to the particular ring. This RingConn ring, and app, however, are the real deal! The ring is well made, its inside surface is made so that it tends to stay in place on your finger without rotating around over time. The charge lasts a very long time, and so far after about a month, the ring still works and charges perfectly. The titanium exterior apparently really does resist scratches, because mine still looks new and I wear it 24/7, except for charging. I swim daily, and wear the ring without issues, it really is waterproof. Too bad it does not have a dedicated tracker for swimming (you have to edit that into the app data after the swim session), but I also use it for walking in our neighborhood, and that dedicated function tracks accurately, in tandem with Google Maps, to show the route you walked.Sleep data is fairly accurate, though it finds REM during some of the time I was awake, which is not correct. It also has twice counted time in my recliner watching TV (before going to bed) as if I had gone to bed, but that data can be easily edited the next morning if necessary. Sleep apnea tracking is a nice touch, it says I probably have mild apnea, which is correct (it would be worse if I did not tape my mouth at night!).Vital signs seem to be accurate, it detects periods of exertion when you are working your body hard. The heart rate is correct even when the ring is wet, which was not the case with my previous cheapie. The “stress” measurement must be based on the HRV value, not sure if that is really helpful for me.I purchased a size 13 after trying sizes in the sizing kit–don’t skip that step, because this ring has an unusual inner surface and you need to make sure to get a size that works on your fingers. Turns out that 13 is a handy size for me, because I can wear the ring on a choice of 3 different fingers, meaning I can switch hands when I need to. According to the AI in the app, the ring finger doesn’t make any difference.Just keep in mind that none of these smart rings, including the Oura, are medical devices–that is, they are not directly measuring most of the information that they display. Instead, these readings are calculated using complex algorithms based on data obtained by the sensors in the ring, so they are really estimates and should be viewed over time, to see trends. Some readings are more accurate than others, like heart rate is more directly measured than REM, for instance.There’s certainly room for improvement, but all in all, this is a good product!

Great life. Great battery life.
I’ve used this for 4+ months now and I love it. The battery lasts a solid 10+ days if you don’t leave the sleep apnea monitor running every night (by default it runs for 3-4 nights and give you a result). With the sleep apnea monitor running every night the battery lasts 7+ days.I got this and immediately went on vacation to the beach. Swam in the ocean, played in the sand, jumped in the pool, snorkeled on the reef, and laid in the sun. Then I went to work, to sleep, out with friends, to business meetings, on trips, and all of the other things I did in my life but with this monitor. It gave me zero issues and tons of data. My favorite thing is that it brings me a general awareness of the long-term impacts of immediate behaviors. Sitting still too long? Sedentary notification. Got lousy sleep? A gentle reminder. Heart rate a little high? A note to watch out for that. And so on.I did order the sizing kit and I highly recommend it due to the unique shape of the inside of the ring. It is not bulky or obtrusive, though.At night you will probably notice a faint green and or red glow. It turns out that it doesn’t bother me at all (at first I thought it might) and doesn’t bother my partner either.Last thought here: I wear mine on my left (non-dominant) thumb and the data appears fine (or at lest consistent).

Just got my Ringconn Gen 2 – setup was a breeze and am excited to start collecting data. Have to say – after reading several comments that the ring fits big, I was a bit worried about sizing but the size 8 I ordered was 100% correct according to the initial ring-sizer I chose from the kit. On top of that, this ring is, quite simply, beautiful. It’s very lightweight and almost feels undetectable on my finger. The gold is not brassy and it looks like an expensive piece of jewelry. 11/10 for fit & style! I got this specifically for the sleep apnea tracking – hoping it performs as well as it looks! Will be back with an update.
