This meter has changed my life!
I have heard about radiation and am so glad I bought this meter! I no longer wear my series 8 apple watch. I measured the radiation from my watch and saw it peak into the red from where it would touch my wrist. I learned that my apple watch would have to be about two inches away from my wrist to not give me dangerous levels of radiation. The watch has to have skin contact to give acurate readings. I tested my wife’s series 7 and it was okay, in the safe zone. I am only allowed one video so I also posted a picture next to my iPad. When I called apple, I was told that they are aware that a series 8 does put out more radiation, but is below government specifications. Using this meter, I made sure that there was no other devices nearby to affect my measurements. I measured without touching the meter. I did a measurement that can easily be replicated (repeated). I measured my watch as if it would touch the skin by placing the head of the meter next to the skin side of my watch. I also measured the top right corner of my iPhone close to where it would generally touch my ear. There was a corner where I get the highest reading on my iPad also. Using this meter, I discovered in measuring radiation from android type smart watches, all of mine were in the safe range. Unfortunately many watches are not as accurate in measurements as the apple watch. I learned that I had to be around 6 feet away from my microwave when running it. I did measure my wife’s Toyota hybrid, which read okay. I learned how far away I need to be away from my wifii router. This meter is very easy to use and understand. I like the peak measurement capability. The color schemes while reading are very obvious of green, yellow and red. I work at church in audio/ visual production and discovered that there are some dangerous hot zones that are dangerous to health. My sound booth had some eye openers. I now do my best to hold my phone away from my head, use speaker phone, and other adaptations. I severely limit my use of noise cancelling headphones. I pay attention about where my phone is away from my body. After not wearing my apple watch for two weeks, I noticed that my body did not ache as much and I was sleeping much better. My brain function improved. I now am sharing this meter function to show others the dangers of invisible radiation that affects one’s health. I am researching different radiation blocking devices, but I haven’t found anything that works. The two things from Amazon I bought did not work and one is no longer for sale. They had absolutely no affect on reducing radiation.I HIGHLY recommend that you buy this meter and USE it! Your health is at stake. I am so glad I bought this meter! It has changed how I live my life.

Seemed to work like it is supposed to.
Part of the issue is that I don’t know much about types of radio waves or radiation. Our microwave appeared to be faulty. The (Panasonic) unit would operate when the door was opened. I didn’t know if it was emitting radiation when this occurred, which is why I purchased the detector. It looked good, but the instructions were limited.I thought the light at the top of the unit would indicate the detection of harmful radiation. It doesn’t. The display does change from green to red when high radiation is detected. Apparently it is just for decoration. I did show radiation being emitted when the door was open. No leaks when the door was closed.Some research indicated that a switch was probably the issue, but that a qualified technician should address the issue, due to voltage that might be retained in the system. Also, it looked to be difficult to get into the area where the door latches. We bought another microwave, as repair cost would likely exceed the cost of a new unit.Regarding the meter, it seemed to do its job, but the weak instructions caused me to not give it the highest rating.If I were to need to check a microwave for leaks again, I would buy a simpler unit.

Nice Design and Build Quality – Works Very Well
If you have ever wondered about EMF emissions from your appliances, cell phone, and other assorted devices the “Tesmen EMF Meter” will help you define areas where the fields are present.Based upon other reviews I was not surprised that the emissions around our kitchen microwave oven were very strong out to over 6 feet. Not surprising given that a 1000 watt microwave is basically a focused 1000 watt 2.45 GHz transmitter. I won’t be leaning on the microwave cabinet the next time I warm up my coffee! The mesh router system in my house was fine as long as you don’t park yourself within 1.5 feet of the router and access points. If you have any Wi-Fi components on your bedside table you would want to find another place for it. As mentioned by others our cell phones were not an issue while on Wi-Fi but when directly connected to a tower far more transmit power is used and it registered as quite strong. I do have a desktop stand ($12 here on Amazon) that I put my cell phone on that facilitates speaker phone operation and that guarantees operation from a safe distance.The manual is well written and covers every aspect of operation and function. It was a nice touch that within 24 hours of delivery Tesmen reached out through the Amazon messaging system to reinforce how to get started and how to operate the meter. They also encouraged the customer to contact them directly with questions or for additional assistance. Nicely done!Five stars for the Tesmen EMF Meter without any hesitation.

In our highly electric dependent society today we are exposed to electro-magnetic fields (EMF) from all electrical sources ranging from power transmission lines outside our homes to the electrical wiring, and appliances and devices inside our homes. As well we are now exposed to increasing amounts of radio frequency radiation (RFR) coming from our cell phones, wireless routers, cordless phones, Bluetooth devices as well as the microwave oven. The long term health effects of exposure to this low energy radiation on the human body has still not been conclusive and recommendations on safe exposure limits vary from country to countryWhile scientific studies are still ongoing and regulating bodies yet to establish safe limits, I myself would rather err on the safe side and limit my exposure. I have always wondered about the amount of EMF and RFR exposure I am getting at home. As I write this review, I am in my home office with a cordless phone base station sitting on my desk next to the computer monitor, and the home wireless router is on a shelf about 3 feet above my head.Professional EMF meters to measure EMF levels are fairly expensive as they are certified to be calibrated to standards to give accurate readings and not typically for the lay person. So when this Tesmen EMF meter was offered by Amazon at a very reasonable price ($40 at the time of this review) my curiosity and interest was piqued. At this price point the meter is certainly not professional grade and there is no certification of calibration so the measured readings may or may not be the correct value. However, for me I am satisfied to get even approximately correct values as well as the ability to make relative comparisons of EMF values between different locations.Upon opening the package, I was quite impressed with the contents: The EMF meter (more on this below), a carrying case, three Duracell AAA batteries to power the meter, and a thick user manual containing detailed instructions in six languages. The manual is even written in a grammatically correct and understandable fashion—at least for the English and French sections, I can’t confirm the others.The EMF meter is all-plastic construction but with the batteries installed has a decent weight and seems of quality construction. There is a decent size display screen measuring 1.5 in W x 1.75 in H and all the control buttons are below the screen. Above the display screen is pulsating green LED in the pattern of the ionizing radiation symbol (a trefoil), which is puzzling since this meter does NOT measure ionizing type radiation (think radioactivity). The screen can only display one type of field measurement at a time (either electric field or magnetic field or radio frequency). The large red ‘Function’ button below the screen allows switching the display between the different field measurements. When turned on, the screen displays the instantaneous reading in large font and also peak or highest measurement in smaller font. As a visual alarm, the colour of the screen background changes from green to yellow to red as the measured levels increase: green is supposed to represent a safe exposure level, yellow represents is a warning of increasing intensity and red indicates very high exposure levels. Now as I mentioned earlier, as there are no universal standards yet on what constitutes safe or acceptable exposure levels, this colour code has been arbitrarily set by the manufacturer. The Table on page 12 (English section) of the user manual shows the intensity levels at which the screen colour changes. (BTW, the numbers in the Table are off by a factor of 10: for example for RF levels, the table indicates ‘safe’ or green for 0.001 -1 mW/m2, yellow for 1-4 mW/m2, and red for 4-100 mW/m2 but when using the EMF meter green is actually 0.01-10 mW/m2, yellow is between 10-40 mW/m2 and red is over 40 mW/m2. Similarly, both the magnetic and electric field values given in the table need to be multiplied by 10 to correspond with the EMF meter). The meter also has an audible alarm in the form of a clicking sound whose frequency increases with increasing measured field intensity (sounds like a Geiger counter). Fortunately, this sound can be turned off if you find it annoying as I did.With this Tesmen EMF meter in hand I went around the house measuring various the fields from different electronic devices and appliances. Some high levels were expected from certain devices but I also found some unexpected surprises. First, as expected the wireless router in my office gave off very high RFR (>150 mW/m2, red screen) when the meter was placed next to it, but when I moved the meter to where I am sitting just 3 feet away, the RFR fell to the safe zone (~1 mW/m2). Unfortunately, the Tesmen meter only measures radio frequencies between 50 Hz – 3.5 GHz. My wireless router is dual band: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, so the EMF meter will not be measuring any of the 5GHz radio frequency radiation from the router. I could still be exposed to higher levels of RFR than indicated when sitting at my desk. The base station for the landline cordless phone sitting on my desk emits periodic bursts of high intensity RFR from its antennae to maintain communication with the cordless handsets even when the phone is not in use. In the kitchen the microwave oven (2.4 GHz) leaks enough RFR around the door to turn the meter red when placed right next to the microwave. However, when moved to three feet away, levels were back into the green ‘safe’ level. From now on, I will stand at least three feet away from the microwave when heating up food. And now for the surprise findings: my favourite recliner in the living room sits directly above the air handler downstairs in the basement for the heat pump. The magnetic field measured from the floor up to the seat height of the recliner was high enough to cause the meter’s screen to turn red. There is a large blower motor and supplemental electric heating elements inside the air handler which may be the source of this magnetic field. I think I will relocate the recliner. Also the electrical wiring running from the electrical panel and along the ceiling of the basement created large magnetic fields that can be measured on the floor above. Other surprising sources of magnetic fields include light dimmer switches and surge-protected power bars.While the Tesmen EMF meter may not be professional grade with calibration/certification, it is a decent quality device that has allowed me to identify and measure relative intensities of various sources of EMF and RFR around the house and take measures to mitigate exposure.
