Experience the next level of fire safety with the Kidde Hardwired Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, 10-Year Battery Backup, Interconnectable LED Warning Light Indicators, model 30CUA10. This smoke & CO detector has enhanced sensing technology that reduces false alarms often caused by cooking and sends fast alerts that help give your family more time to get out safely. To detect carbon monoxide, an electrochemical sensor is used. This alarm offers a modern 5-inch design ideal for all living spaces such as living rooms, hallways, kitchens, & bedrooms. Comprehensively tested and designed to the latest UL standard for safety and reliability, the 5-inch smoke & CO alarm is powered by 120V AC wiring with a 10-year built-in lithium battery, so you never have to change a battery for the life of the detector (not a battery performance claim). In addition, it’s self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. This Kidde combination alarm is equipped with end-of-life notifications that will beep to remind you it’s time to replace it at the of its 10-year lifespan. Meets requirements of 9th Edition UL 217, UL 2034 4th Edition, FCC, and CSFM.
2-IN-1 DETECTION: Alerts you to both smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) using a single detector.
HARDWIRED and 10-YEAR BATTERY BACKUP: Operates on 120V AC wiring (installed in the ceiling). No battery changes for 10 years and saves up to 40 Dollar over the life of the detector.
ENHANCED SENSING TECHNOLOGY: Reduces false smoke alarms often caused by cooking. Comprehensively tested to meet the latest UL standards, meets UL 217 9th Edition, UL 2034 4th Edition, and FCC standards.
INTERCONNECT CAPABILITY: When one alarm sounds, they all sound, so you can get out faster. (Different models offer different interconnection options and requirements. See User Guide for more info.)
SELF-TESTING ALARM: Internal components ensure alarm is always operating as expected. Not a substitute for a manual push test, perform a button test once per week to verify alarm operation.
3 LED NOTIFICATIONS: LED lights indicate alarm status, green – normal operation, amber – operating error, red – smoke or carbon monoxide detected and a loud 85-decibel alarm will sound.
TEST and HUSH BUTTON: Makes it easy to test the 5-inch combination detector and silence false alarms, should they occur.
10-YEAR WARRANTY: Begins when alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that alarms should be replaced. (10-yr limited warranty on alarm, not a battery performance claim.)

Easy to install. Is a combo Smoke and CO2 detector.
Easy to install, though it was different from the one we were replacing. Came with something to leave over the detector if construction was still going on. In our case, we were replacing one that went through construction without protection from dust.Works with our other Kidde hardwired detectors. Love the 10-year battery, which may outlive us. There were cheaper ones, but my other ones were Kidde so I knew this one was compatible with them. It plugged right into connection plug, though as I stated above, we did have to change out the bracket even though the previous one was just 4 years old.I think our previous one was just Carbon Monoxide so having a dual detector was an improvement and am very happy with this product. This one looks smaller than our previous one, but is not. Might be a slicker look, more up to date.I would suggest this item to friends and family.

    Excellent Product
Excellent product, easy to install but get the adapter so you don’t have to bother with wiring it in. No batteries needed, it has a built in battery that lasts for 10 years.

Straightforward Replacement, but Consider Using a Battery Type Instead.
Replaced our old garage alarm with this since the AC wiring was already there. You would think that an advantage to hardwire is that you don’t have the damned thing screaming at you in the middle of the night to replace the battery, but this has a backup battery, so guess what? It’s going to fail overnight! You might consider getting the Lithium battery type because the battery and sensor age out at about 10 years, so you might as well replace the whole thing, UNLESS you need to connect this to an alarm system. I tested ours with a candle wick because some smoke detectors, believe it or not, arrive incapable of detecting smoke. Go figure.

A combination detector is must where you have gas appliances or a gas furnace
I bought this during Prime Days for a much cheaper price. I’ve been waiting for the price to come down, so I bit the bullet and made the purchase. My old smoke/carbon monoxide detector started beeping incessantly and I knew I needed to replace it. Since I have a Kidde interconnect system from years ago, I needed the hardwired alarm, and the 10 year battery saves the hassle of changing them and the cost of buying them. Installing it was easy, though I needed to replace the existing connector since the plug was moved to a 90 degree angle on the bottom. Nothing to that, just match up the colors on the old connector to the wires on the new one (which is included) red, black and white. A few twists of the 3 wire nuts and it was ready. This alarm even fit the mounting bracket of my old Kidde alarm since it is relatively the same size, but I replaced it anyway because it wasn’t as white as the new one. Once I turned the power back on the green light turned on indicating it was functioning properly. I still need to test the loudness of the smoke detector hopefully the sound level is good since it is the basement it needs to be loud.

Great detector but must replace the ceiling mounting plate
Great smoke & CO detector. Even though it is the hard-wired version, it is easy to insert the soldered leads into the plug of the old detectors so they don’t have to be rewired. I found that I did have to use the ceiling hanger that came with the detector as the new detector could not be secured to the ceiling properly. That just meant that I needed to replace the ceiling mount plate at the same time as the detector before installing the new one. Otherwise, the installation was fairly simple and the detector seems to work as intended.

False alarms! Don’t buy if you like a good night sleep!
Worthless products. I bought 8 smoke detectors and one of these combination units with the hopes of not having to mess with them for 10 years. This device and one of the smoke detectors have given false alarms which activate my security system. The first time I was out of town, so the fire department got called out. This was early in September. The alarm system audible interface was dropped during a battery replacement, so I replaced that device thinking it was at fault. Friday 9/12 at about 10:00 PM the smoke/CO detector false alarmed and set the system again. Fortunately, I was home and was able to disarm the system and not have fire trucks at my house again. I replaced the unit with an extra smoke detector I purchased. Last night about 11:30 PM the smoke detector in a spare bedroom false alarmed and scared my wife really bad. There has been no construction activity within my home.Long story short. Poor product! Kiddie will not issue a refund just gives lip service. These will be going into the trash and I won’t use another Kiddie product in my home, business, or rental properties. If you want a good night sleep, buy something else. These detectors are going into the trash.

    Saved my life!!!!
Love, love, love this Product!!This is my second set of 2 detectors, as my last set expired. It saved my life 2 years ago when I had a Carbon Monoxide leak from my furnace. I WILL NEVER be without these detectors. I also have mine hardwired! Great product!!
