Easy Setup, Fast Keypad, and No Lockout Headaches
I replaced another smart lock after it decided to reset itself and lock me out while I was standing outside in 14-degree weather, trying to power it with a 9V battery. Not a great experience.Time will tell with this one, but I own a ton of Wyze products across my houses and generally trust the brand. One thing I really like is that if the internal battery dies, this lock uses a proper USB-C port for emergency power. That alone should eliminate the connection issues I had with the 9V setup on my previous lock. There’s also a physical key option, so I don’t have to worry about getting locked out again.Setup and installation were very quick and straightforward. If you can install a standard deadbolt, you can install this lock — it’s about the same level of effort. Like everything else from Wyze, it also integrated smoothly with Alexa.The finish looks great, and there are a few standout usability details worth mentioning. The fingerprint reader is very fast and reliable, and it’s what I use most of the time to unlock the door. Even though the keypad is electrostatic, it’s far more responsive than others I’ve used. There’s essentially no latency — the beep is immediate, so it’s very obvious when a number has been registered. That makes it much easier (and less frustrating) to use, especially for kids. Finally, there’s a status light at the top of the lock. If I enter the wrong code or it doesn’t recognize my fingerprint, it flashes red right away. The feedback is clear and unambiguous.

Wyze auto lock bolt v2
Great lock system for our backdoor. Good price and shipping was fast. Set up was super easy. Fit perfectly with the existing holes and didn’t have to do any drills or make extra holes. Was able to connect with Alexa and can remotely lock and unlock the door as needed. App functions great with the auto lock. Finger print reader is quick and unlocks door in seconds. Definitely getting one for the front door.

I purchased this to upgrade from the original Wyze Door Lock. Installing is pretty straight forward as most door bolt locks would be. Connecting to the Wi-Fi went smoothly as did setting up the keypad code and entering in the fingerprints to learn. It will have you touch the fingerprint sensor several times to get readings from all parts of that one finger’s print. You can add on additional fingers of yours or other family members etc. I would have given this a 5 star rating except for one thing. The auto-lock feature does not work as well as on the “Original Wyze Door Lock”. You have the option to have it auto-lock after 15 seconds, 30 seconds …. and so on. The “Original Wyze Door Lock” did the countdown starting after the door was closed, the new Wyze Auto-Lock Bolt v2 does not sense when the door is closed so it throws the bolt out even if the door is left open. That is not a smart door lock. I hope the people at Wyze read this review and get that corrected in a software update. Other than that I love it along with the other 45 Wyze devices I own.

Very good cost/features ratio. Easy to use, and biometrics is reliable.
Super easy setup. We already had a deadbolt, we just upgraded to a keyless entry option. We’ve been using it for just about a month, and I can say it makes a lot of difference. Biometrics is more reliable, than ones we used before. Truth be told, it’s frustrating, when your bio doesn’t get recognized, you’re locked out, unless you got pin as well. Manufacturer claims lockout is for a short period of time, but in our case it was stuck there. I have the app, so I could reboot the lock, and it was OK after that. It’s just irritating, when you stand there for God know how long…. Other than that, I love it overall, has a bunch of great features.

Really easy to install. Works great in all weather. Literally the day after I installed it we had horrible snow and low temperatures and it still works fantastically. The auto lock feature is super nice and gives you a piece of mind just in case you are like me and check the locks all the time.

I installed this into my condo’s front door in about 30 minutes, including removing the old deadbolt. Was able to take it to a locksmith and get it rekeyed to my old key in 5 minutes for another $15. Easy peasy. The batteries did come at a half-life though, so I doubt it’ll last the full 8 months.

This really is a big little lock.. The finger scanner works very well… better than I expected…. simple and not fussy.Very easy to assemble and install… I have some skills.On the negative side … the key pad beeps could be louder, especially for those hard of hearing… I’m sure the Wyze elves will sort this issue.A suggestion: the bolt shoots out after a set time – set by you – can this not happen when you decide to leave the door open … for what ever reason ? An extra button perhaps with #3.Looks great too.
