Great so far! Easy to setup too.
I just installed this today and it went very smoothly. I read a review beforehand that said to pair the smoke alarms to the base station before installing them onto walls and ceilings and I’m glad I did! They do pair a lot more quickly when they’re right next to the base station. I used a P-Touch labeler and labeled all the bases after pairing them and naming then so I knew where to put them. Tip: if you’re anal like me and want the XSense font on the alarm to face parallel with a wall or edge, just make sure one of the 3 mounting screws is “top center”. That way when you secure the alarm onto the base, the font will read parallel to the wall/edge!I have an old 1920’s home with 9′ ceilings and lathe and plaster walls, so it’s a pretty soundproof and dense house. The base station is in my foyer on the first floor and the smoke alarms are pretty much right above and below it through each level. I have one in the basement, one on the first floor, 3 on the second floor (2 bedroom, 1 hallway), and one in the attic. The app shows every alarm having a good signal. I also tested each unit and they all tested flawlessly. The old smoke alarm on the first floor went off every time I’d cook dinner, so I’ll probably accidentally test the system very shortly!11/7 EDIT: I’ve owned this system for over a month now and it has not gone off from cooking! I tested it by lighting a paper towel on fire, blowing it out and then holding it under the alarm. It went off instantly. My phone app also immediately went off as did the base station and other alarms, alerting my where the detection occurred. Great system!

Peace of mind that’s intelligent and intuitive.
I went years with the weight of not having appropriate smoke detection on my shoulders. But, this system was a huge relief. This a top tier smart smoke detector system. It’s easy to setup multiple units with the app. I can name each unit so I know where in the house they’re detecting something. I can even run my own fire drill to test out the detectors and my family’s preparedness to handle a situation. We’ve had a couple false alarms while cooking, BUT I love that I can step right into the app to silence when needed. I also get an app notification, google home notification, and email notification that an alarm is going off. I feel safer with this, but also feel like I have better control and confidence in the with xsense than I have with standard systems in the past and without the clunkiness I’ve seen in other smart alarms. Eventually I’ll add a carbon monoxide detector in areas where gas/combustion are more likely. Overall I can’t rate this system, and the peace of mind it provides, higher.

Saved the Day
I purchased the entire x-sense smart system. It included both the smoke and the heat sensors. The app was easy to install on my phone and easy to use I set up several smoke alarms and a couple heat sensors. It was a couple of weeks after I set it up that I was out of my house and got an alert on my phone that an alarm was triggered. We went home right away and found out that a pan had been left on the stove and was smoking. We are so happy that the system worked as advertised and are thinking about expanding the system in the future. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a smart smoke/heat alarm system.

Watch the date code on the sensors…
Excellent system. Easy to setup and offers versatility when it comes to the different sensors that can be attached. Voice commands are nice for quickly and easily identifying where an alert is being triggered. While there are other methods of determining this, the voice is by far the easiest if you’re anywhere near the base station.Be aware of the date code for all of the sensors. Recommendation is to replace after 10-yrs. The package I received was already a year old, so won’t be getting the longevity that I should. Minor inconvenience, but something to be aware of. Wasn’t worth the hassle of packaging back up and returning.

Works well
Having teens at home while I’m away is always stressful and worrying. These let me know if something goes wrong, and seem to work very well. Easy to install and configure.

Very disappointed, as it will not email a code to create an account
Well, I order these with high hopes of replacing my Nest Protect smoke detectors. I wanted interconnected smoke detectors and these seemed like they would be good from the reviews. Get them in and the first step is download their app and sign up. Did that. But to complete registration, their system has to send an activation code to your email.I have been waiting and waiting and nothing. Have checked every folder, junk, spam…etc. Nothing. Tried signing up with another email account, besides my Gmail account, same thing, it will never send a code to complete registration. So, at this point, I cannot proceed, as everything is dependant on having a working account. So, I cannot install these.Called customer support and of course, they are close after 5 pm eastern time.Very disappointed with this product!Update: After 3 days, I finally got an activation code to open an account. Once I did that, installing these is not very difficult, but setting up the detector’s in the app is a nightmare. The instructions are not clear at all on how to do this. It took a long time to figure out how to select the correct detector and get them setup. Again, instructions are not good on this part.I like the concept of these detectors, but there is a lot to be desired here.#1 from what I’m reading in the instructions, these interconnect together only using the base unit. So, what happens if the base unit fails or loses power, do the detectors still interconnect? And if the base fails or loses power, do you still get app notifications from the detectors?#2 these detectors should not de completely dependant on having an online account. The only way you can make these work, you MUST have an online account through X sense…why? Let the detectors work with a local account.
